Caring for Others
Fauquier County Quilters believes it's essential to give back to our community. We have done many community service projects. When the pandemic hit, we sewed several hundred surgical caps for medical students and staff at our local hospital. We also made quilts and donated them to area hospitals and Hope Heals Community Free Store. For our current project, we are sewing lap quilts to be donated to Hope Heals to help our community here in Fauquier County. Click here for more information.

Another service project we are committed to is sewing pillowcases for young oncology patients at Johns Hopkins Pediatric Oncology Center in Baltimore, MD. The first group of pillowcases was delivered in December and the children loved them so much that when FCQ asked if we could continue the project, Johns Hopkins was very grateful. Since this project began we have sent a few boxes of pillowcases to the hospital and we hope it has brought some joy to the recipients. The pattern for the pillowcases is linked below.
